final cut

This is the final edit for our video. The only thing that will change is that instead of colour, the short will be in black and white.

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

The final choice of music for our short, horror silent film.

Hannah found this music for the video and i feel it works well and builds tension in the right areas.

New title cards i’ve just whipped up using the google search image i found.
Group decision that these title cards were more effective than the last, and were more ‘eerie’

baby Critch editing

I was put in charge of editing

With editing, Critch had the most experience and we didn’t want to all crowd around a computer arguing over each other saying “this goes there.” “that goes here.”At certain points of editing we would all come around and watch what had been done so far to reflect on things we liked, didn’t like (though there wasn’t any), and things that may have been missed. As the footage was getting edited everyone else could work on other things to work into the film. We found as the film was in the process of editing, other things (music and graphics) also changed to fit in with the film and work together.

Rush #2

This rush includes footage filmed on the 550DSLR.

It is important that we match up the footage from the XDCAM and this camera for a successful edit.

These are the images you bring back from the filming location either on film, tape or disc. The uncut footage that will later be edited into the final programme.

The term “rushes” originally comes from “rush print”. Exposed film negative would be sent at the end of the shooting day to the…

Rush #1

This rush includes our footage filmed on the Sony XDCam. It was important for us to create this rush of selected successful clips in order to begin to understand how we wanted to sequence our video. It also meant that we were able to try and consider where we wanted to drop in our graphics as queue cards to our audience.

We spent two long nights getting everything filmed and to work together with enough time left to edit the video together.
